About Interventional Cardiology Dr. Nishith Chandra:

As the Senior Director of Coronary Imaging, Dr. Chandra brings 26 years of experience to Fortis. He previously served as the Chief of the Department of Cardiology at Fortis Escorts Heart Institute’s Noida Branch, handling both administrative and clinical responsibilities. Dr. Chandra is a seasoned interventional cardiologist with over 21 years of expertise, specializing in intricate coronary treatments such as Rotablation, Carotid Interventions, Balloon Valvotomies, and Peripheral Vascular Interventions.

Dr Chandra played a key role in establishing the Air Ambulance Unit at Escorts Heart Institute, which successfully transported over 300 critically ill patients from various regions in India and neighbouring countries. Leading the Emergency and Heart Command Center for more than two decades, he has demonstrated leadership in critical care.

With a keen interest in medical informatics and electronic medical records, Dr. Chandra is actively contributing to the digitization of Cath lab operations. He has authored numerous articles in peer-reviewed national and international journals, along with chapters in various books
